This work is designed in three sections that explore contrasting textures of the ensemble. The vibrant rhythm of the first and last sections is opposed to an ethereal and ghostly central section based on clusters of harmonics in all strings. Overall, the work has a very organic quality based on the few main motives presented during the first moments of the piece.
