Winter Update (January 16, 2013)

The winter/spring 2013 season will feature several new commissions and premieres. In February, the “Tutti” New Music Festival at Denison University, OH, will be presenting the US premiere of Estampas for tenor, chorus, and piano, featuring tenor Kevin Wines.
March will feature three exciting world premieres by Jorge Muñiz! The first event is on March 3, the Mizzou New Music Ensemble will perform the world premiere of a commissioned work, Duende, Fantasy for Chamber Ensemble, featuring flute, clarinet, bass clarinet, violin, cello, percussion, and piano at the University of Missouri at Columbia under the artistic direction of composer Stefan Freund. On March 19, Duo Sonidos performs the world premiere of Funk for violin and guitar at Indiana University South Bend. A third large-ensemble world premiere will also take place in the US this March, however the details of the commissioned work cannot yet be announced, it’s that top secret!
