New Commissions (September 11, 2012)

The University of Wisconsin – Parkside, Kenosha, WI, will feature an exhibit of selected panels from The Names Project AIDS Memorial Quilt, from October 22-November 4, 2012.  Jorge Muñiz has been commissioned to write a vocal composition for The AIDS Quilt Songbook performance on November 4, 2012 in Bedford Hall featuring faculty and opera students.  Jorge will set the poem “AIDS” by May Sarton for solo voice and piano for this memorial performance.

The Jornadas de Piano Luis G. Iberni International Piano Festival in Oviedo, Spain has commissioned Jorge Muñiz to write his second Piano Quintet to be premiered by Cuarteto Quiroga (pianist TBA).  The world premiere is planned for fall 2013.
