This new publication publishes a new work commissioned to Jorge Muñiz, Escenas Nocturnas (Nocturnal Scenes), which includes two movements: “Encantamientu” and “Rise la l.luna” with poetry by María Esther García López.
Nocturnal Scenes describes in several strokes the beautiful words of the Asturian poet María Esther García López in two poems in Western Asturian, from the region where my family is originally from. The work centers around the moon, as the luminous center of the night and eternal observer of our lives. It is articulated in two movements, the first, “Encantamientu”, more dark and calm, is subtle, evocative and flirtatious. The work concludes with the final movement, “Rise la l.luna” of a very playful, sensual, and provocative nature.
